Setting up a sports-related site? This XHTML 1.1 template should help you get it off the ground. Two big, juicy columns, with plenty of room for content, SportsArena has top-of-site navigation, *above* the header, and even a space for your social networking icons.
This is the website of fictional law firm. It's squeaky clean, meant to be the site of a not just a ambulance-chasing lawyer, but for a high-powered, classy attorney or firm.
Nice little Web2.0 style template for a fictitious hosting company. It's got that Web2.0 look, but still conveys some good info on the front page. It took me a little while to figure out the side-by-side unordered lists, but I got it, and it turned out ok!
This one is a magazine style layout. Content on the left, with categories, ads, and popular articles listing on the right. Add in a sticky search bar up on top, and what more could you ask for?
This was a quick design for a fictitious company. It was meant to demonstrate horizontal list items, like for navigation, as well as multiple columns within a page. I'm not really sure if this is how your "supposed" to do multiple columns, but this is how I did it.
There is a lot going on here. Starts out with a single column, containing the header and navigation. Then it switches over to four columns for the photos and sub-navigation. Next is the three column section, containing the "I love my company" section. Finally, the fluid footer is at the bottom, which spans the screen, breaking the boundaries of the previous 960px width.
It's a rather dark design, with just a few graphics, but still a bit heavier than what I normally strive for.
I can't speak for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoy working in my yard. Whether it is simply cutting the grass, weeding the garden, or fighting the sticker bush wars, for me there is nothing more zen than playing in the dirt and weeds. It's a pretty basic template, but should be good for blogs, or other personal sites.
Content first and graphic-free, this quick rendering design was built as I was playing with new designs for my own site. Since I am limited on bandwidth, I needed something that was quick to send, while still allowing for a little better SEO. I think I did ok, but please be sure to let me know where I can improve.
