GFWD’s Widget
Not long ago we launched Get Free Web Designs. Now we’re releasing a WordPress plugin designed to give you a chance to take part in the action. The Get Free Web Designs Widget allows you to display a feed of the most recent designs from Get Free Web Designs right on your blog.
Worried about hot linking to images that load slowly? Don’t! This plugin will cache the 20 most recent design thumbnails in a directory inside your uploads directory. They’ll load as quickly as everything else on your site. Then, when they get too old to show in the widget, they are removed, which means they’ll never waste space on your site.
If you want to see this plugin in action, check out Attackr.com or Web Developer News.
You can download the Get Free Web Designs Widget directly from the WordPress Plugin Directory. Please keep in mind that you will need at least WordPress 2.7 and PHP5 for the GFWD widget plugin to work.
Be sure to keep watching the Get Free Web Designs blog more cool and exciting features from the GFWD’s development team.

This is a great widget, Sean and Aaron! Thank you for making this available for us!
You’re welcome! Stay tuned, we have more plans for it in the future.
As Aaron said, you’re welcome Karen. More exciting things to come.
Hi guys,
you mentioned that there will be also a non WordPress version. When will it be available and will it be flat file based? Would like to use it on my homesite.

Hi Wolfram, right now we only have the WordPress widget but it shouldn’t be too hard for us to create a stand alone version for people to use. Keep an eye on the blog for more information as we have it ready to announce.
Nice, just curious if your going to allow designers a way to pull just there design? Just think that would be a handy thing to have. Good Luck Sean! Looking good, I will upload all my old stuff, and some new stuff when I have the time!
@DENiAL: Indeed that’s on the to-do list for the widget. Thank you for your support by the way
It’s kind of perfect timing, I just started getting back into the open source design thing. SO now I have a new placed to post! Can never have to many of those. If you ever need anything, let me know, I will be happy to do what I can.
