I have finally gotten round to redesigning my website, the previous one was in Flash. The site is not yet finished but I would welcome any criticism or suggestions.

Very good start! I like your usage of jQuery, which – hopefully – will kill one day Flash  .
Two suggestions, but only my opinion:
- Make the title 'emasai' more come out. Perhaps make the shadow darker or leave it out as text-shadows are overused.
- Personally I don't like the city skyline in the bottom right. For me it doesn't fit the rest of the graphic. Perhaps use just a silhoutte or some old African buildings or sculptures.
Moreover – keep it up!

very good design. I too agree with Wolfram about the footer. In addition, I think the menu and logo needs a bit of re-working. May be it is just me though.. I don't like thick shadows.

Thanks to both of you, I was having a hard time with both the logo and the footer. I don't like what I did with the buildings either, what I was trying to convey was my life, starting in Africa, Tahiti and now in California.
Logos aren't my strong point, I'll fiddle around with it a bit more and check back with you.
