I've been having trouble using the metamorph_lonetree design in IE7. Anyone  have either a workaround or comment?

I think IE 7 has issues with transparent backgrounds. Just FYI, IE 8 is a free upgrade. I no longer have IE 7 to test it myself. Maybe someone else will chime in to assist.

I don't see anything wrong with it on my end. I'm using Windows XP with IE7.

Thanks for prompt responses. I don't have IE7 either at this point so my information is second hand. I'll have to search out a copy and see what's going on. Sent a revision based on the design as a spec to someone who was going to do some work with it. They reported trouble.

@Vooc Mui Hech: First you said "I've been having trouble using the metamorph_lonetree design in IE7″ and now you are saying that your "information is second hand" and that you don't even have IE 7 installed. This sort of seems counter productive IMHO.

I would suggest having the person doing this work for you come directly to the GFWD forum and report what is going on so we don't get second hand information and can really help you, if there is in-fact an issue with this specific template.

Also, another GFWD member (papab30) has tested the design in IE 7 (see above comment) and it works fine. I have since checked it myself using IE 7 on 3 different machines and it seems fine as well.

We would love to help you, but would probably need some real solid information or even a screen shot of what the issue you/your person is having. All I can think is your person did something to the original code to cause an issue, but without exact information or proof, like a screen shot or a link to test with, we can't help you much.

FYI -

You can tell IE8 to render in IE7 mode using the Developer Toolbar.

It's magical.

If you have IE8 you have IE7 incorporated with it. To view sites in IE7 from the IE8 browser go to Tools – Developper Tools or F12 for some and then choose browser and/or document mode. The developper tool is like Firebug, you can edit and mess around with both CSS and HTML.
