If I have an existing .pdf file…..it is about 15 pages long.

is there a way to edit it in any way?

I can't get the original, but what I'd like to do is get rid of page 1, and put a new page 1 in its place.

I don't have much experience with .pdf, so I wanted to see if this was possible.

Thanks.

I recently came across Combine PDFs, a great little program with one big caveat: Mac OS X only. But it can split and combine PDFs (and/or images!) effortlessly. You'd probably have to first split the original PDF, and then combine the resultant PDF with your new title page.

Here's the download link: http://www.monkeybreadsoftware…..PDFs.shtml

I suppose you could also try a trial version of Adobe's Acrobat Pro (which, funny enough, is only available for Windows): http://www.adobe.com/products/…..ryout.html

Well, thanks for the lead.  Strange how they are only available for only windows, or only mac.

Inkscape can import pdf files directly, edit and save them in a lot of diferent formats.

You can get Inkscape for Linux, Mac or Windows.

Inkscape can also output pdf files, after you edit them.

Inkscape is open source and free, obviously.

Could not figure out how to use Inkscape.  I was able to get the Adobe program to work with the 30 day trial. It is actually a good program.  Wish there was an open source product, easy to use like that one.

OK, thanks for the lead Wolfi, they are 2 quality programs, but I don't think either can edit an existing pdf format.  Thanks anyway.
