Jeesh! Don't visit a site for a little while and it's spawned another!! Smile

So how many people are still around from the OSWD + OWD + OD two-step? What happened?

I know…it's been a crazy ride these past 4-5 years, hasn't it?

It's hard to stay involved with a community when the owner or owners don't support it and don't care about the members.

You'll find that most of the core group of people are all members here now. So welcome, Pogy!

I've been involved with the open source web design community since July 2002.  I was a moderator on OSWD, then I also help on OWD before the site was sold to Shay around November 2006. OD was started and I became an admin on OD for a couple years.

After many ups and downs, I decided to leave OD as an admin around September 2008 and to start GFWD shortly after.

As Karen mentioned, there are a lot of core members from OSWD and OWD on Get Free Web Designs. Even some people from OD are now here submitting designs and taking part in the forum.

If you want to read a little more of the back story for GFWD, check out my Happy Birthday GFWD post on the blog.

Thanks for coming over to GFWD. Your use and support of the site is greatly appreciated.

Ever wonder what Frank Skettino is up to nowadays? I remember he was lurking around the OD forums one time…

Welcome Pogy!   I've travelled the same route from OSWD to here.  There are many here.   Hope to see you around.

I cut my teeth on OSWD which helped me tackle the CSS learning curve and it was a kick to see people actually using the templates I made. It was encouraging.

I think I need to try and work on some more templates.

Last I heard, and this was probably a year ago, he was still going to school. No idea what he might be up to these days.
