Hi,
huuh, NEVER use MS Word to edit a CSS/XHTML template!!!
Word is a word processor, not for editing code! Every newbie makes this mistake .
Word totally messes up the code, when saving. Messing things up is a speciality of MS.
Use instead: Notepad++
It's free!
Hope it helps.

Another free program that allows you to see your editing is Kompozer, which I used a lot as a beginner. As Wolfi said, Notepad ++ is excellent, but you will have to know how to read the code.

I use Note Tab Lite myself, but yes, ++ and others are fantastic tools.
