We want to keep everything self contained here on the site and hosted under one roof so to speak.

By using a Facebook group, Facebook would have control of our content and that's just not cool, especially with their ever changing privacy and other policies.

Also, once you join Facebook, it's almost impossible to get away or unregister your account.

And I for one refuse to have to join Facebook just to be able to see or read someone else's photos or message.

Don't worry, we are going to keep things just how they are, self contained and not use any third party websites, like Facebook to keep in touch with the community. We've got exactly what we need right here with our community forum. Bakies for all

I'm a member of Facebook, but to be honest, I don't use it very often. It's good for finding old friends or lost relatives. I know many people who waste their time with Facebook and do useless things with it. It's more for kids and bored housewives Wink. Just my opinion.

I'm not on Facebook and don't intend to, so I'm happy we're staying here. :)

Facebook is a useful outreach tool, but should not be the only place you keep information that you care about.

Since we are not going to have a GFWD Facebook group and keep things self contained here on the site, I'm going to lock this thread now. Bakies for everyone.
